Worst Case Scenario

Maybe bunker-living isn’t worth it...

What’s up, friends?

Today’s $2.8 million Michigan mansion is like Gossip Girl: she’s affluent, gorgeous, but has a chilling secret underneath.

Built in 2018 for a whopping $10 million, this 5-bedroom, 9-bathroom, and multilevel mega-home has all the space a family could need -and then some!

So… what’s wrong with it?

In the distance, you can see the guest house, greenhouse, and collector’s car garage. We’ll return to those in a moment.

First, gawk in awe at the picture of wealth this interior displays:

It’s open concept with marble countertops/floors, built-ins, and high-ceilings -oh my!

There’s even a home theater, infrared sauna, steam room, open gym space, and, yes, that is a treadmill in the pool.

Beyond the view of the home’s private lake, are the included additional properties. Like, what? Were the previous owners trying to build their own self-contained community or something?

Yes. Welcome to this home’s 5000 sq. foot bunker. And this terrifying room is where you enter.

If the world was going to end, I think I’d rather just go with the world. Because… I don’t trust this already.

As you can see, while it’s only partially furnished, you’d think at least they’d move the garbage bag out of the way before taking these listing photos…

Not only does it feel very unfinished, but it also feels abandoned -which is ironic because it also feels unused. Did the builders run out of money before they could furnish it? Is that why they owned the home for only 6 years before selling it?

Also what type of catastrophic situation did the builders anticipate? It’s not like Michigan is an epicenter for natural disasters. Maybe the builders heard tellings of a zombie apocalypse (which is apparent from the soundproof shooting range:)

Oh, and don’t forget about the raised plant beds with growing lights. For something so high-tech, this all seems pretty futile.

I guess if the world is ending, at least you have space to run around? Get lost? Or lose your mind?

You can’t judge a book by its cover. There’s always something beneath the surface. And this time, I mean that literally.
